I don't think you have to. If you don't - you wont be able to complete sweepstakes that require "liking" or retweeting.

I didn't enter the facebook or twitter info, nor the 10 friends email addresses. It seemed to work for me. I don't how many contests require the tweet/like and I think the friend's email addresses generally earn you extra entries rather than being requires.
