Server Migration
Bingo Advantage has been hosted with the same host since 2003 and despite a few bumps along the road I was pretty happy with them.

In the past couple of months the host started doing several internal server migrations and each time they did it they broke my site. Each time the same problem and each time I had to report the problem and it would take 2 - 3 days to get fixed.

I have moved Bingo Advantage to a different host.

Thus far, the effect of this move is

[list:187cb188fa]The server is much more solid (the previous server would reset every 15 - 90 minutes.) The coldfusion resets didn't effect players very much, they mainly just effected the accurate reporting of [url=/views/who.cfm]who is online[/url] (reseting the list each time.)

The mysql is less stable. I'm noticing many more mysql misses. This effects the comparison table and the [url=http://links.bingoadvantage.com]Bingo Directory[/url].

The new server is quite a bit faster.

The new server is currently having trouble with client variables. Wierd.

Support response with the new server is much slower.

I get the impression that the system administrators are better with this new service.

I'm not certain yet, whether I have chosen the right host - mainly as a result of the login troubles today and some other minor problems - but the server is much more stable and much faster - so if they can take care of the glitches it should be a nice home.
