Call me a geek but I think best film score of recent years must be the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Howard Shore is amazing.

I think ET had a very good film score as well. Not only was it a great movie to watch but it was fun to listen to as well.

May I add a 1960's movie called "How to Kill a Mockingbird".
I beleive that was a perfect 10 as well. I saw it and I thought it was incredible.

Yes, better than chariots of fire.

The opening sequence to Apocolypse Now is arguably the best opening sequence to any film! (IMHO)

For some reason I can't seem to remember any film scores - I guess I'm not atuned to it. Except for the Rocky theme. That must be the most memorable.

When I look through that list I recall a few. The high noon whistle, psycho, jaws and the star wars thing at the beginning and end of the movie.
